Mike was born Michael Richard Pompeo on December 30, 1963, Orange, California. Of Italian descent, he attended Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley, California before proceeding to the United States Military Academy at West Point where he finished top of his class.
After serving in the military for a time, Pompeo went to Harvard Law School, after which he worked at Washing Williams & Connolly, a law firm.
