The Cobra Kai Cast Is Full of Excellent Veterans and Newcomers Alike

With all respect to Ralph Macchio, Zabka is the main draw of Cobra Kai. We know that Daniel LaRusso is a nice guy, and is likable; fans already spent three movies learning that. Zabka's performance as Johnny, here, is humanizing, hilarious, and charming all at the same time.

Before Cobra Kai, Zabka was best known for his work in the '80s; he appeared as Johnny Lawrence in both The Karate Kid and The Karate Kid Part II, and also played roles in classics of the decade like Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield. In 2010, he made a supporting cameo appearance in Hot Tub Time Machine as a guy who Craig Robinson's character gambles with; Hot Tub Time Machine writer Josh Heald would eventually be Zabka's showrunner on Cobra Kai.
